  Memorial Attendance ???

  hi all, anybody any anecdotal or actual idea of how attendance numbers went this year ?.

  there are hints that it is well down, but is it ?

  and if it is, will the borg stop crowing about the attendance as they always have ?.

  They said last year was a little over 20 million at my memorial talk.

  I remember when more people than usual came back in 2014 because of the "100th anniversary of the Kingdom" and the fear that it meant something. The number counters at HQ erroneously thought this was a trajectory that could be counted on and projected that 2015 would top 20 million, even writing an article about it. But that year the attendance actually dropped for the first time since I don't know when, if ever.

  You'd think they would've deleted this article by now, just like they deleted the one about the Telly Awards and the Jared Kushner video, but I guess somebody forgot.

  i was wondering if co's who get 'green handshakes' ever report their 'income' from these jw benefits?

  in the us even gifts beyond a certain amount must be reported.

  jw's like to claim how honest they are, do they report all their income?.

  Excellent point. I think it's $300-$400? Not sure. Also don't know if being a member of a religious order makes a difference.

  the fds used to refer to itself as being a prophet or prophet class.

  it used to call itself "the ezekiel class", "the jeremiah class", etc.

  didn't it stop doing that?

  Because the more they refer to themselves as a prophet, the more likely some JWs will notice the scripture about what makes a false prophet, at Deut. 18: 20-22:

  “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’

  It says right on the badge not to transmit the program over phone and internet, and that the badge is not transferable, and only for the person's name on the card. Makes me wonder if the cards are supposed to have the names printed in and then given to the elders/Ms, instead of them writing it themselves. It looks like a printer ready file, a block of badges to be printed and cut out.
